Our primary service is the secure recycling of business IT equipment. This of course involves many functions, so the purpose of this page is to help our customers by explaining what is covered.
Through discussions with our customers we have found that they usually have one or more of the following needs:
- Those concerned about their data
- Those concerned about the environment
- Those who want to dispose of electrical waste
We make daily collections, covering the whole of Europe, and in many cases we will collect your end-of-life IT equipment for free. We collect anything classed as electrical or electronic, but predominantly office IT equipment including products such as PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, smart phones and tablets. Local drop off is also possible at our national distribution centre (see contacts).
When we collect your redundant or surplus IT equipment for disposal, we will issue to you a full set of compliance documentation for you to keep on file to prove to any inspection agency that you are compliant with the law.
Our courteous and knowledgeable drivers will then load the equipment into our secure vehicles, where it remains locked-up until returned to our secure processing facility, thus ensuring full confidentiality & security.
Re-use vs Recycle
Where ever possible, we will try to reuse or re-manufacture anything we collect; this is by far the best thing for the environment. Our team of IT specialists have the appropriate skills and experience to assess what is worth saving, and what needs to be recycled; but without exception, every hard drive is either wiped of its data or destroyed.
Anything that requires to be recycled is broken down to the point where it can be handed over to the raw material recyclers, and we can guarantee that we send absolutely nothing to landfill.
Alongside the important environmental considerations, information security is also of paramount importance. Certified Data Destruction means that you will get the appropriate documentation to prove that your data has been completely eradicated.
This can be done in a number of ways, but each way will have these features in common:
- Provides assurance that confidential data can never be accessible again
- A high level of site security is maintained
- Secure processing of equipment is to the level approved by HM Government Security Services
- Employees are Security screened
- Certificates of data destruction provided
- Devices with data to destroy include, PCs, laptops, printers, smartphones and tablets
This is a process where we eradicate data from storage devices by over writing the information with pseudo-random information multiple times, thus eliminating any trace of what used to be there.
The tools we use are approved for this purpose by HM Government’s Communications electronic Security Group (CESG).
Off Site Data Destruction
This is the most cost effective solution, and the quickest way of destroying your data. We take the computing equipment back to our base, and choose the best method for destroying the data.
For those clients who want the ultimate service in terms of actually seeing their data being destroyed, we have equipment, software and expertise that we can bring to your site.
Hard Drive Physical destruction
Off Site Shredding
This involves taking the equipment away from your site, and physically destroying all data bearing equipment.
On Site Mechanical Destruction
We have portable hydraulic equipment that can be mounted in a vehicle and operated near your premises, say in a car park. This also physically destroys all data bearing equipment.
Secure Document Shredding
As well as destroying computer data, we also provide certified destruction of paper documents. This process is performed to the same high standards, where our automated machinery has a throughput equivalent to 9,000 telephone directories per day.
Data Centre Decommissioning
As specialists in the IT recycling industry, our team has a vast array of knowledge that enables us to work with your in-house IT department, or we can arrange and plan the whole thing for you. Either way, our objective is to help take the hassle away from your staff.
We offer a safe and secure way to dispose of all your redundant or surplus IT equipment, including servers, networking, monitors, cabling, racking, UPS, and so on. Our Services also ensure complete data security in an efficient, secure and eco-friendly way.
Asset Tracking and Reporting
As part of the process we record and identify every piece of equipment that comes into our plant.
At the various stages through the process we will record the results of testing to aid in decision making, and the final destination of every piece of equipment (asset) is determined by the best use that can be made of it.
For those clients who require extra evidence for their corporate social responsibility, we can provide a detailed report to prove just what happens to their assets once they have left their care.
Our licenses cover us to process any waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). This can cover white goods, household appliances, industrial equipment, and generally anything with a plug or a battery.
